The long carved bone pendant is a healing amulet from Ethiopia and is crowned by a clay spindle whorl from Mali. Hollow brass “filigree” beads formed by the ancient lost-wax method accent the strand of magnesite beads, horn and additional spindle whorls for a necklace that is truly “out of Africa.”
